Dr. Paul Yoo is an Assistant Professor of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He is an expert in the field of Neural Engineering in which his primary research objective is to develop electrical neuromodulation therapies for treating chronic medical disorders.
In addition to academic research, Dr. Yoo has worked on various projects with medical technology companies, such as Imthera Medical Inc, Microtransponder Inc., Ethicon Endosurgery, Boston Scientific Corporation, and Nuviant Medical. Prior to joining the University of Toronto in 2012, Dr. Yoo worked both as a post-doctoral research associate and assistant research professor at Duke University. Dr. Yoo received his B.A.Sc from the University of Toronto in Engineering Science (Biomedical Option), M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Biomedical Engineering.
